Samsung Continuum Announced, Features Two Touchscreen Displays
Samsung has announced tonight at their media event in New York City the brand new Samsung Continuum smartphone, as part of their Galaxy S line of smartphones. The Continuum will feature a 3.4" Super AMOLED touchscreen display running Android 2.1 (will quickly be updated to the latest version of Android), a 5MP camera that shoots 720p HD video, a 8GB microSD card included for storage, and a 1GHz Hummingbird processor. But what really stands out in this phone is its unique 1.8" secondary color display underneath. It too is a touchscreen that can be activated when the main screen is shut off by gripping the sides of the phone. Its purpose is to show any incoming notifications, calls, text messages, or alerts -- a "ticker" display if you will -- so that they do not disrupt any ongoing activity on the main screen. The Continuum will be available on Verizon Wireless starting November 18th with preorders in the 11th for $200.
