Windows 7 Usage Officially Passes Vista in U.S.

A little over a year after its launch, Microsoft Windows 7 has clearly proved itself to be a widely praised operating system. More importantly, its highly regarded as Microsoft's very best OS yet, especially more so than the total wreck better known as Vista. Three months ago, Windows 7 usage passed Windows Vista usage worldwide and is still climbing at a great pace. Now as of today, Windows 7 has officially passed Windows Vista in the United States. StatCounter reports that according to daily usage, yesterday Windows 7 claimed 22.9% of the market share in the U.S. while Vista claimed 21.06%.

Now the only OS left in the United States for Windows 7 to beat is Windows XP. The nearly ten year old operating system is still dominant in both the U.S. and worldwide. It seems likely that Windows 7 will be able to pass XP usage in the U.S. by next summer. XP must die.
