Android 2.3 Gingerbread Underwhelmingly Arrives
This may just be the Apple fanboy in me, but Android 2.3 is here and from the looks of it, there's not too many great features. It's mostly just a bunch of tweaks and refinements, similar to the way Mac OS X Leopard moved to Snow Leopard. So if you are all into new features in software updates, you aren't going to be pleased. However, if you've been looking for a faster and more polished Android experience, Gingerbread brings a lot to the table. Everything you'd want to know about Android 2.3 is below in the video. Warning: It gets pretty geeky.
Just to name a few highlights:
- better cut and paste
- redesigned keyboard
- support for video calling and access to multiple cameras
- better game performance
- VP8 and WebM video support
