AT&T Will Support iPhone 4 Personal Hotspot with Release of iOS 4.3
Apple yesterday announced that iOS 4.3 for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad will be released on March 11th. One of the features of this update is Personal Hotspot, allowing any WiFi-capable devices to connect wirelessly to the iPhone's cellular signal. Originally introduced in the Verizon iPhone (CDMA), this update will bring Personal Hotspot to GSM iPhones and surprisingly, AT&T is on board to support it.
However, in order to utilize this feature, customers will have to subscribe of AT&T's $45/mo 4GB data tethering plan. This is likewise with Verizon's tethering plan.
