"It's Time to Say Goodbye" to IE6

Microsoft today launched a campaign called the IE6 Countdown, which tracks the Internet Explorer 6 market share around the world. The attempt is to try and countdown to when IE6 gets down to 1% market share worldwide. As of February 2011 it's at 12%, with China contributing an astounding 5.9% to that. Microsoft states:

10 years ago a browser was born. It's name was Internet Explorer 6. Now that we're in 2011, in an era of modern web standards, it's time to say goodbye. This website is dedicated to watching Internet Explorer 6 usage drop to less than 1% worldwide, so more websites can choose to drop support for Internet Explorer 6, saving hours of work for web developers.

Below that, Microsoft gives you steps to take in order to help the cause. It's pretty sad Microsoft has to drive people away from their own product, but at the same time, it's understandable. It's just illogical to use a ten year old browser.
