BlackBerry PlayBook Matches iPad Price But Not Size, Out on April 19
After months of hype -- and by hype I mean RIM trying to get people excited about this thing -- the BlackBerry PlayBook finally gets a price and a release date. The price will be the exact same as the WiFi versions of the iPad: 16GB for $499, 32GB for $599, and 64GB for $699. At launch, there will be no 3G version, though it is expected to come out on Sprint this summer. The WiFi models will be out on April 19th.
It seems that many manufacturers have finally began to realize that Apple was right. Seven inches of screen space really is small for a tablet, and most are now bumping up the size of the display. RIM however has chosen to take a dive into the market with their 7-inch screen and if the PlayBook was going to fail -- not to say that it will -- this would likely be one of the main reasons. But don't get me started on BlackBerry.
