Safari Web Browser Gets Hacked in 5 Seconds

This year at Pwn2Own, as always hackers were given a challenge to try and hack a web browser as quickly as possible. The first browser to be hacked: Apple's Safari. In fact, it was hacked in just five seconds. Pathetic. A team of French security experts simply loaded up a website that would attempt to hack the browser and it worked. They won this year's Pwn2Own, receiving $15,000 and an Apple 13.3-inch MacBook Air.

The most secure browser this year was Google Chrome. Two hackers took on the challenge for Chrome and both failed. Before the hacking event, Google was confident enough to pay up $20,000 to anyone successful in hacking the browser. That bet ended up being in Google's favor.
