AT&T, Verizon, Sprint All Waive Calling and Texting Fees to Japan

AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint all announced today that they will make any calls or text messages to Japan entirely free in order to help people get in touch with friends and family there after the devastating tsunami. This applies to users in the United States and Puerto Rico. Calls and texts to Japan are free only from now until March 31st on AT&T. AT&T's residential customers will also get up to 60 minutes of free talk time to Japan.

Verizon's residential customers has entirely free calling to Japan as well as free calling and texting from U.S. mobile numbers. All of this is free until April 10th, almost two weeks after AT&T ends the program.
