iPhone 5 to Feature 8MP Camera, Faster Internals, Same Design
AppleInsider apparently has the scoop on the new iPhone 5 today. The site is saying that the new iPhone 5 will only be a modest upgrade from the iPhone 4 (think iPad to iPad 2) and will carry over some of the features from the iPad. The iPhone 5 will get significantly faster with the inclusion of the Apple A5 dual-core chip that promises up to 2x faster CPU and 9x faster graphics. Also being upgraded is the camera: up to 8MP from 5MP on the back. There's no word on the front, but hopefully that also gets a higher resolution than the current VGA.
Contrary to earlier reports of an aluminum back, AppleInsider says the design will remain the same as the iPhone 4, but there will be a tweaked antenna to support both GSM and CDMA and probably fix the antennagate issue. The iPhone 5 will supposedly go into production this September.
