Google Goes Social with Google Buzz

Google Goes Social with Google Buzz

Google has officially announced it's brand new service that pushes toward social media, and it's called Google Buzz. Google Buzz, as I type this blog post, is being rolled out slowly to all Gmail users.

So what is it? It is an opportunity to share statuses, photos, videos, and more with integration from YouTube, Picasa, Twitter, and other services. It is right on your Gmail account and will automatically follow the contacts that you email and chat with the most. Plus, content from Google Buzz is integrated with your inbox so top posts are brought right to the front.

The experience gets even better on a mobile phone. From a smartphone enabled phone, going to buzz.google.com adds an important part of the Google Buzz experience: location sharing. The ability, with a GPS-enabled phone, to share location and even geotagged photos is made possible with Google Buzz.

So Google has made Gmail social. Everyone with a Gmail account will receive Buzz within a few days. Do you think that Buzz will eventually take over Facebook or Twitter?
