Announcing the Bitts Upcoming Redesign
As you may have seen on our official Twitter page a few nights back, I posted that Bitts had a redesign in store. Well, now the time has come to reveal some details as well as the targeted release date.
For the Record...
I have been very happy with the current design and our first design. I thought it was perfect for showcasing featured articles at the top, and all the rest toward the bottom of the page. But then as Bitts grew over the past few months, it began to evolve a bit. It's not so much about the "featured" articles and what not. It's more about keeping with what all of our subscribers want to hear and serving it up as quickly as possible. So, it's time for a little change--I like change anyways.
New Design
I hope you will all enjoy the upcoming redesign. I think you'll find it the overall user interface really "pops" a little bit more than our current one which is a little bit more gray with some blue splashed here and there. In keeping with our standard blue and gray signature style, the design still looks much more sharp. Also, the big blue banner at the top of the home page is gone. Instead, there is a new Top Stories section in the sidebar that will showcase two or three of the current top stories. Also, the little "boxes" of posts on the home page have been removed and has been replaced by a more standard blog-look. Unlike other blogs though that keep you scrolling and scrolling to find the second post, the home page will only feature excerpts from each article so the first article isn't always the first thing you see.
