Microsoft Announces Windows Phone 7 Multi-Touch, Apps
Today at the MIX10 conference in Las Vegas, Microsoft unveiled even more features that will be coming to Windows Phone 7 operating system at its planned release. No one even saw additional features coming or fired up rumors about any of them.
Microsoft announced that Windows Phone 7 will in fact support multi-touch technology on the touch screens of the devices. Multi-touch has made using smartphones so much more convenient and enabled so many features to come about. Microsoft also announced Silverlight support on the phone, which is Microsoft's own competitor to Adobe Flash technology (but Flash will also be on there) as well as the Windows Phone 7 SDK for developers to create applications on the operating system!

There are already partners in making apps such as Netflix, Shazam, Seesmic, Pandora, Foursquare, and more. Microsoft will be working with many to create as many apps as possible for WP7's launch. Seesmic, a Twitter client, already has photos of its app in the works.
Could Windows Phone 7 be a serious competitor to Android or iPhone OS? Microsoft seems pretty determined.
