Sprint Announces First 4G Phone

Today at CTIA 2010, Sprint decided to unveil its very first 4G smartphone, which is the HTC Evo 4G. It has a gorgeous 4.3" display and it runs Android 2.1 (sweet!).

Sprint has been boasting about its 4G network for quite some time, being the first carrier to make major implementations of 4G technology. By the end of this year, it is said that Sprint's 4G network will cover 120 million people. It wasn't too long ago that we were making the transition to 3G speeds.

The Evo has 1GB of internal memory, a 1GHz processor, and an incredible 8MP camera on the back of the phone. There's also a small camera at the top of the front display for video conferences. Pricing is unannounced, but the HTC Evo 4G will be available this summer.

UPDATE (6:57p ET): That small camera on the top is 1.3MP. It also even has a kickstand and HDMI out.
