Google just announced at day two of the Google I/O conference their new service called Google TV that hopes to really get the best web video concert on the best view in the house, your television. Similar to Boxee or Apple TV, Google TV wants to close the gap between your favorite movies and shows as well as your favorite web clips and content.

It seems to run an optimized version of Android for televisions. You'll also be able to download apps or games and spend "less time searching and more time watching".

It will also have Google Chrome built in for surfing the web. You can either search or browse. Browsing can be done from the Google TV home screen or from a separate DVR or TV. Google says they are working with manufacturers such as Sony to get Google TV built in to TVs, set top boxes, and Blu-Ray players by this fall.
