After rumors that surfaced about a month ago pointing at possible Facebook integration right into iPhone OS instead of via a separate app, Patently Apple has discovered a patent Apple filed for back in September of 2008 and was not approved until April 1st, 2010. The patent is something called a "Social Workflow" that would enable more easier interaction with other iPhone and iPod Touch users and social networks. Features such as the ability to easily accomplish tasks between two users/devices like transferring and syncing contact information would be done wireless, similar to how apps like Bump work. It gets even more exciting when Facebook is involved...
Facebook integration would allow for your Contacts list to also include Facebook friends and some information grabbed from their profile. You can also apparently store Facebook photos of a person and send a friend request from this Workflow app. Take a look.
