It appears that Apple is not having a very good summer. Their latest challenge is pleasing customers who just want a white-colored iPhone 4, and even that is proving to be a bit too much. Originally delayed to the end of this month, the white iPhone 4 will now be delayed until "later this year".

Statement by Apple on White iPhone 4

White models of Apple's new iPhone® 4 have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected, and as a result they will not be available until later this year. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.

So those who want an iPhone 4 in white will either have to get a white case or wait until later this year. This is the first time Apple is shipping an entirely white iPhone. Previous models only had a white back cover, and that may have been the best choice.
