Google Realtime Search Becomes Standalone Product with New Features

Today Google has made some changes to Google Realtime Search. First off, it is now a standalone product. Previously, in order to access live search results, you'd have to make a regular search first and then click Updates. Now, by going to google.com/realtime (being rolled out as this is typed), you can punch in any search query and get your specified real time results.

Aside from that, there are now a few new features in Realtime search. You can filter your search by location using the left sidebar and now add a realtime search query to Google Alerts by selecting "Updates" as your category.

There is also a new Conversation view which will allow you to sort through updates and see all replies and retweets if from Twitter, as well as see the full threaded conversation.
