T-Mobile Announces G2, First 4G Phone

T-Mobile has certainly been pretty quiet about smartphones lately with the most recent addition being a Samsung Galaxy S phone. Now it seems they are looking to turn the tables with the T-Mobile G2. This would be the successor to the G1, which launched last year on T-Mobile as the first Android phone in the world. There's a teaser page up on the T-Mobile website which explains:

The T-Mobile G2 will deliver tight integration with Google services and break new ground as the first smartphone designed to run at 4G speeds on our new HSPA+ network. In the coming weeks, we’ll share more details about the G2 and offer exclusive first access to current T-Mobile customers.

This would make the G2 T-Mobile's first 4G capable smartphone. To the right you can see the originally ugly G1 but from the vague image on the website, we can see there may be a sleek, more modern look planned for the G2.
