U-Verse Mobile 2.0 for iPhone Delivers TV Content, New UI
Way back in March at CTIA 2010, AT&T announced that this would be coming and it's finally here. I just received the update on my iPhone for AT&T U-Verse Mobile 2.0 that comes with a brand new, redesigned interface which looks pretty slick (though the new icon has some issues with detail on the edges) and there's no retina display support which is a big bummer. But the most emphasized feature in this update is the ability to download television shows and watch them right on your phone.
Oh wait, let me rephrase that. You can download television shows and watch them right on your iPhone if you have a U300 or U450 package. Those of us with U100 or U200, well we're out of damn luck. You may have guessed by now that I have U200 so I don't have access to these features. AT&T has a great knack for only serving their highest paying customers, and somehow the ones that are paying slightly less per month aren't just good enough. So for us this update brings the ability to add favorite channels and a nice shiny black and blue user interface. Oh, and gradients too. Cool!
AT&T U-Verse Mobile 2.0 will soon be available in the BlackBerry App World as well and there hasn't been any word on Android. Seth the Blogger Guy has his casual tour below and I just find it so great that he could give us a tour of this wonderful new app update while sitting down by the trees and enjoying what appears to be an iced coffee. Thanks, Seth.
