T-Mobile Releases Full Details on G2
The T-Mobile G2 will be the first 4G-capable smartphone on T-Mobile. We've known this since the first teaser page was posted including some very brief details of the upcoming phone. As of this morning, we know the full details. Inside will be a 800MHz Snapdragon processor and 4GB of built in storage with a microSD card slot that will come with an 8GB microSD preloaded.
On the software side of things, T-Mobile G2 will be one of the very few phones to run the stock version of Android 2.2 Froyo which is either a hit or miss with many people.
There is also a touchscreen keyboard with Swype built in as well as a slide out QWERTY keyboard, 5MP camera with LED flash and 720p HD video capture, and a 3.7" capacitive touchscreen display.
Overall, the G2 looks like a compelling smartphone option for T-Mobile users, who have been left hanging for a while looking for a good option ever since Google killed their own Nexus One. The G2 certainly has a much sleeker design than its predecessor, the G1, as seen above. It will be available for pre-order for existing T-Mobile customers at the end of the month.
