MacBook Air Gets 11.6" Little Brother and Redesign

The MacBook Air got a refresh today at Apple's "Back to the Mac" event along with a smaller little brother.

First off, the 13.3" model now has a slight redesign to better fit in with the MacBook Pro's unibody construction. Plus it has a ton of storage and power enhancements. It comes with a standard 1.86GHz Core 2 Duo (2.13GHz option as well), 2GB RAM, GeForce 320m graphics card, and dramatically improved battery life. Plus SSD storage is standard as well. The new model starts at $1299 for a 128GB SSD and $1599 for 256GB.

Apple introduced a brand new 11.6" model -- it's absolutely not a netbook -- today at the event as well to add to the previously lonesome Air family. It's basically a very small and very low power MacBook. It starts with a 1.4GHz Core 2 Duo, 1366x768 resolution display (slightly under the 1440x900 on the 13.3"), and the same RAM and graphics. A bit more affordable, the smaller MacBook Air starts at just $999 but for only 64GB storage, or $1199 for 128GB storage.

Both models are available beginning today.
