Verizon Wireless Officially Gets the Apple iPad
Apple and Verizon have finally struck a deal... but not for the iPhone. Surprisingly, this news is all about the iPad. Yes, starting on October 28th, Apple iPad will be available on Verizon Wireless. It will be all the same pricing but with a twist. Verizon will first sell just the regular WiFi only models for $499, $599, and $699 for the 16, 32, and 64GB models. Now Apple does offer the iPad with built in 3G capabilities, but instead of using that, Verizon will be offering its MiFi mobile hotspot packaged together with a WiFi-only get to basically get the 3G capabilities from the separate device. The package will sell for the same $629, $729, and $829.
But don't think AT&T lost just yet. AT&T announced today that the iPad will be available in their stores as well beginning October 28th, except the 3G models will not require a separate device for connectivity.
So now that both carriers will be selling iPad in stores, which one do you prefer? And do you think the deal with Verizon hints at the coveted Verizon iPhone coming soon?
