Verizon has launched a promotion that's valid for anybody that receives a special email. This email will entitle you to unlimited texting, data, and mobile-to-mobile calls for just $70/month. Plus, you'll also get 450 regular minutes per month.

The promotion may be squarely aimed at AT&T, since you can only get these prices using a basic feature phone. Smartphones jack up the prices. Competition always drives innovation, so I think it's time for AT&T to fight back. The more the carriers fight, the more we -- the consumers -- ultimately win.
